TrueNAS Unveils Scale 23.10.2 Update

The release of TrueNAS SCALE 23.10.2 marks the second maintenance update to the 23.10 series, introducing over 60 changes aimed at enhancing the reliability and performance of TrueNAS systems.

Key changes in TrueNAS SCALE 23.10.2 include:

  • TrueSecure features: Incorporating FIPS-grade encryption and rootless administration to meet US federal compliance standards
  • Mixed NFSv4/SMB workloads: Offering consistent ACLs and file locks for shared dataset access by both Linux, Unix and Windows clients
  • Faster HA Failover: Streamlining failover processes with VRRP, cutting times by up to 50%
  • File Sync: Utilizing the Syncthing app for real-time SMB or NFS file synchronization or migration across TrueNAS systems
  • F-Series Appliances: Introduction of the all-NVMe TrueNAS F-series appliances, designed for applications such as video editing, AI, and virtualization performance

The update also focuses on numerous bug fixes and updates, including:

  • Linux kernel 6.1.74 and OpenZFS 2.2.3 early patch set
  • Enhanced disk temperature and network performance reporting
  • Improved privacy in debug files for support tickets
  • Support for larger application catalogs
  • Resolution of over 60 additional bugs
